Sunday Hangover-Monday Edition

That game went about like I expected.  LSU was unable to summon the plays to win, and by LSU, I mean mostly Jarrett Lee.

However, I don’t want to be too harsh on him, because to be fair he has been tossed into a very tough position.  But I don’t really understand the calls for Jordan Jefferson.  He is completely unknown and there must be some reason he hasn’t played meaningful time yet.  He might start, and be even worse.

Anyway, props to Bama, and to Saban, for an excellent game.

On the Tide, as I was watching the game, I was thinking “There is no way that Bama deserves to be the number 1 team in the country.”  LSU’s defense had a good day against them, their big rushers didn’t go crazy, and LSU even moved the ball on their defense at times.

But even as I thought the Tide didn’t deserve to be ranked in the top 5, I had to ask myself who is better?  Texas Tech?  I can’t say yes to that.  That’s still a team, I believe, with some gaping holes.  Penn State?  Iowa says no.

The obvious answer to that question is Florida, but the Gators have one loss while Bama remains undefeated, so Alabama has to be ranked number 1.  They do deserve it.  The great thing is that Bama and Florida will have to play it off in the SEC championship game.  Thank you Roy Kramer!

Anyway, full credit to Bama, and good luck the rest of the season.
