SEC Power Poll Ballot Week 2

  1. UF – Ok, so maybe they needed a 17-point fourth quarter to pull away from the ‘Canes, and maybe they had 27 rushes for 89 yards for a weak 3.3 yard average.  But maybe Randy Shannon can coach him some defense, and maybe Miami was fired up for this one.  So maybe the Gators are staying at the top of my Power Poll Ballot.
  2. UGA – CMU had Knowshot.  This team is pretty dang good, methinks.
  3. LSU – In Les’s four years, he has faced five hurricanes.  One of those, he beat 40-3.  The others, not so much.
  4. Bama – They didn’t swamp the Green Wave, but still have the second most impressive resume in the SEC so far.
  5. Auburn – bumped down a notch due to unimpressive performance against SoMiss.
  6. Ole Miss – Tied for this weeks high riser (+3) due to impressive showing at Wake Forest, and my own personal fear of Houston Nutt.
  7. Vandy – The other high riser, moving up three because of beating laid on South Carolina.  They didn’t squeak out an upset, they beat the Cocks.
  8. UT – meh. Does anyone get a good feeling from this team?  They have now had an empty week after upchucking in L.A., what are they going to do now?
  9. Kentucky – yes, they beat up on Norfolk State.  And yes, I moved them down.  Bottom line is that I just think UT would beat them right now.
  10. USC – that was a bad, bad loss.
  11. MSU – rebound from Tech loss by beating up on SLU.  Not impressive enough to get out of the Curley Hallman section of the ballot.
  12. Arkansas – 2 near escapes in a row?  Petrino is a genius?  I know this: Matt Ryan threw for a touchdown on his first pass on Sunday – think Petrino could be lured back to the Falcons?
