Hitler Arrested

Knoxville, TN – Yet another Tennessee football player has gotten into trouble. Redshirt Freshman defensive back A. Hitler was arrested by the International War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague for a variety of genocidal and hate-crimes offenses.

Hitler had mostly seen time on the scout team during his first year, but had shown promise with his charisma. Although only a red-shirt freshman, Hitler was widely popular in the locker room, shown by him finishing 5th in the team voting for captains. The Vols only elect 3 captains per year. He was expected to compete for a starting cornerback spot this year.

When reached for comment, Volunteer Head Coach Philip Fulmer said, “Well, it is a sad day for the program. However, it is important that we let the justice system do it’s job. The kid is a good kid, and he is innocent until proven guilty. The young man has no prior problems and we hope the best for how this turns out.”

However, the Knoxville Press Sentinel Advocate Advertiser has uncovered evidence that Hitler’s past is not clean. While a High School senior, he wrote a research paper entitled Mein Kampf that resulted in a suspension. When asked about that, Fulmer refused comment, except to say, “I don’t read much.”

A press release issued from the Volunteer Sports Information Director’s office later stated that Hitler had been suspended from spring practice, pending the outcome of his trial in the Hague. A source close to the situation said that if Hitler received a minimum of jail time, it was his opinion that Fulmer would reinstate him before fall practice because “They are kind of thin in the defensive backfield this year.”

Behind Hitler on the depth-chart is true freshman G. Kahn, from Altay, Georgia.
