Does he want the LSU quarterbacking job? It might be his, if he wants it.
As everyone and their mother now knows, Ryan Perrilloux has been suspended indefinitely by Les Miles for violation of team rules. Whether these were the kind of team rules that say you need to be in for a workout at 7am or the kind of team rules that say don’t get caught with a dead hooker in your trunk is unknown at this point.
Of course, speculation runs rampant, and much of it involves RP’s mother, classes, a meeting with Les Miles, and a Ryder van full of fertilizer. Ok, so I made that last part up. The fact is that no one who knows is commenting on what type of rule Perrilloux broke, and so no one knows if ‘indefinitely’ means 2 weeks, 6 months, or forever. The meaning is indefinite, at this point.
I think it safest that LSU fans accept the notion that Perrilloux may never take another snap as a Tiger. And truth be told, he probably shouldn’t. He has had numerous chances, and somehow his name keeps coming up in bad situations. I don’t know what he has done this time, but I am going to get ready for the idea that Jarrett Lee will be the Tiger starter next year.
And is that a bad thing? I don’t think so, but I am not sure. Lee was relatively highly rated coming out of high school, but who knows how he will do? No one, but I am curious to see.
To be honest, I am looking forward to next football season. LSU will be going in without the burden of high expectations, which will be transferred onto some of their opponents. LSU will still have tons of speed, especially on offense, and I think they could sneak up on few teams, like Florida. And of course, there will be the return of Nick Saban to Baton Rouge. All in all, it is a pretty good prospect – now that that whole 2007 National Championship is done and dusted.

I don’t you should kid around about what it might have been, speculation is good, kidding on the topic may not be. What about Pryer? LSU has two quarterbacks and the message to them was “GET READY NOW” as this guy is not going to climb out of the grave this time.
What a waste.
you ever think he might want to play basketball also.
GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!
erik,
I think his comments have consistently been that he wants to focus on football. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he went in for some basketball, too. And I do think he will be a buckeye….
