Of course, as soon as I write a post about why I hate the College Basketball Regular Season, something happens that makes me pay attention to it. A source tells me that at this point, current UAB coach Mike Davis is the leader for the LSU job. I don’t really think this is a great move – I mean honestly, he is still living off of that one year at Indiana, and has done a mediocre job at UAB, according to followers of the program. This source mentioned that Baylor seems determined not to let Scott Drew be lured away by the promise of big dollars. And if this article is to be believed, LSU is not going to back up the bank truck and unload on the new coach in any case.
Will LSU fans accept Mike Davis? I guess so. Does he inspire fans to go out and purchase tickets? I don’t think so. In my humble opinion, LSU needs a better coach than Mike Davis.
