2 Bama Players that you may not have heard of that you need to watch out for

Before we get to Bama-related material, there is one interesting tid-bit from today.  If Les Miles leaves, at least one columnist thinks that Tommy Tuberville could be LSU’s next coach.

We (imperial use) here at Pelican State Sports are continuing the dialogue with the Memphis Tider, the noted Tide blogger. Today’s topic is to tell us about a player on both offense and defense that we may not know of, but have to watch out for. Browse yourself over to the Memphis Tider’s excellent blog to check out the two players that I mentioned:

Offense: Matt Caddell has turned into a hero in our two minute offense. With everyone focusing on DJ Hall and Keith Brown (who hasn’t been used as much this year), Caddell just slides underneath the zone and makes catches for 10 yards per grab. He’s got great hands and extremely good vision, so he can make plays with his feet as well. Of course, if you focus too much on him, DJ Hall will have a field day.

Defense: The Tide is used to being stout at the middle linebacker position, and while there’s not a whole lot of depth, the obvious leader at the position is walk-on senior Darren Mustin, who just earned a scholarship this season. He got hurt with a stinger in the 3rd quarter against Arkansas, and as soon as he went out, the Hogs went on their run. He was also out against Georgia, which hurt us bigtime. He was still somewhat injured for the Florida State game, but as soon as he was back and healthy, he raised hell against Houston, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. He’ll be the rock for us on defense.

Roll Tide!

  1. Do you really think Tubby to LSU is a possibility? I don’t think there is a lot of love for the guy in BR.

  2. I agree – I think LSU fans hate the Tubster. But he is undeniably a good coach, who know the SEC pretty well. Would LSU fans come around to him if he became their coach? He does have a pretty good record against Saban…
