Attention all non-Aryans: Stay Away from Cincinnati

Michael Silver of SI.com, in his ranking of NFL owners, places Bengals owner Mike Brown dead last. According to Silver, Brown was reported to say this:

“Look, it seemed like a good thing in the beginning. A lot of people think a lot of things are good in the beginning. A lot of people thought Hitler was good in the beginning.”

That got me thinking – where have I heard something like that before? Twice in fact, once in 1992 when this quote was uttered:

“Hitler was good for Germany initially.”

and in 1996:

“Everything you read, when he (Hitler) came in he was good. They built tremendous highways and got all the factories going. He went nuts, he went berserk. I think his own generals tried to kill him, didn’t they? Everybody knows he was good at the beginning but he just went too far.”

Who uttered these pearls of wisdom? Marge Schott, the owner of the Cincinnati Reds! What is the deal with sports team owners in Cincy? Is the city an enclave of latent fascism? All I know is that if I was a minority, I might think twice about moving to the Nati.
